STEP by STEP to building the Curriculum
Here is a recap of the next steps in building the Bindu Master Curriculum. We are currently working on step 1.
STEP 1 - to be finalized by mid-november.
-
Conduct a Needs Assessment
- Identify the competencies required in your specialized field.
- Research industry trends and gaps to define key skills your graduates should have.
-
Develop Competencies
- Define the knowledge, skills, and attitudes students should acquire by the end of the program.
- Group competencies into categories related to your field of expertise.
Step 2 - 1st Trimester 2025
-
Design Curriculum
- Create a framework for each cycles (trimesters)
- Map competencies to specific courses and learning experiences.
- Ensure alignment with the overall mission of the program.
Step 3 - by June 2025
-
Create Learning Experiences for Trimester 1
- Design practical, experiential learning activities that help students embody the competencies.
- Use various teaching methods (interactive projects, group work, etc.) to enhance learning.
-
Assess Competencies for Trimester 1
- Develop assessments that allow students to demonstrate mastery through projects, presentations, or portfolios.
- Move away from traditional exams toward competency demonstrations.
Recommendations :
We recommend that you leverage AI Tools :
- Use AI tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm lesson plans, design competencies, and refine teaching materials.
- Customize AI inputs to reflect the specific needs of your department and students.
Collaborate with the Team :
- Work with Vanina who will be coordinating curriculum design and Suzanne who will review and provide support.
- Reach out and ask questions.
- Submit your competencies and course structure for review.
We will work on a Continuous Improvement as we will be teaching the Masters:
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum.
- Gather feedback from students and faculty to make necessary adjustments.
- Align teaching outcomes with industry standards and evolving trends.

Competencies Maping document
This is the master document that will map all competencies for Bindu Master program. Please see the Yoga Therapy tabs as exemple of what you will create for each of your topic.
You will be invited to create a copy of the document. You can work directly in the document if that is convenient with you or create a word/google doc and let us put it in the google sheet for you.

Learning Experience (Lesson Plan) :
Here you will find examples of how to build a learning experience (a lesson plan) :
- Aligning learning experiences with competencies
- Different teaching methodologies (project-based, play-based, challenge-based)
- Creating a framework to track student engagement and learning
We are not moving into that step yet, but this is showing you where we are going from the competency maping.
