Anatomy is the study of the body's internal and external structures while physiology studies the function of those structures, both singularly and in conjunction with one another. Form and function must both be considered to fully understand the human body. This Department is in Collaboration with both Anatomy of Movement and Integral Anatomy.
Includes core competency requirements, weekend immersions on focus topics, as well as certification courses and prerequisites. a study in Human Anatomy or Human Physiology.
An opportunity to investigate bodily systems:
Gil Gedley, Ph.D.
"The combined interests and training of Gil have supported his personal exploration of the human body, leading him to develop an integral approach to the study of human anatomy. "Integral anatomy" looks beyond "regions" to explore and appreciate the whole body's continuities and relationships of the textural layers into which that first embryonic cell has differentiated. Integral anatomy sees nature as a mirror reflecting self, rather than other, and aims to develop an understanding of the whole person as well as the whole body."
